To add further complications, the Patron may want them to substitute the stolen item with another of the patron’s choosing. The PCs can’t simply attack with another ship, they need to get in and out with a minimum of mess. To complicate the issue, the patron wants the item stolen covertly and without too much violence. The PCs have been hired to steal an item of particular interest from a vessel shipping it to another port. After he begins his work, people grow healthy again… then show signs of strange side effects and mutations… The captive says that he can undo the devastating symptoms if they let him out. Partway through the voyage, however, crewmen fall terribly sick with some alien disease.
